SOUND IS NOT DECORATION.
IT IS THE PHYSICS OF THE
PLAYER EXPERIENCE.
God of War, in C minor.
A cue written to a God of War scene where Norse myth, vengeance, and motion collide — harmonic shadows and shifting meters (4/4 · 7/8 · 6/8) tracking relentless momentum through a world ruled by gods and grudges.
Built on C minor's composite minor scale (raised leading tone + modal-interchange color), with borrowed ♭VI and ♭II (Neapolitan) chords lending a Phrygian darkness. A single V7/V secondary dominant sharpens the pivotal tension point.

Diegetic music — instruments swap live with party.
Skybound
Endless BGM with dynamic tempo tied to speed & altitude.
Focus — 42 cues, one voice.
The counterpart to a game score: a full UI sound pack for a productivity app. Every cue is haptic-paired, tuned for phone speakers, WCAG-safe on mute, and versioned as a system — not a bag of one-off .wav files.

Anchored to a single perfect fifth (C–G) so every cue lives in the same harmonic room. Positive events rise, dismissals fall, errors bend flat — a grammar the ear learns in one session.

Sound bridges memory and now.
Listen first to the silence between the notes.
Traditional East Asian music teaches that resonance lives in restraint. Every score begins by asking what should not be said.
Treat the orchestra as architecture.
Pillars of brass, beams of strings, ceilings of choir. The story walks through that architecture, and the music shapes the rooms.
Carry tradition into worlds that haven't met it yet.
Bring ancient instruments and modal languages into games, apps and cinema — without losing their lineage.
Writing between cultures.
Berklee · Boston / Hanoi
I'm Sylvanus Finnian — a composer, sound designer, orchestrator and multi-instrumentalist based in the United States, currently studying at Berklee College of Music. I write music and design sound for film, television, video games, apps and international artists.
My work moves between the Western orchestral tradition and the ancient musical languages of Vietnam, China, Japan and Korea — scores that hold space for silence as much as sound.
For games and product apps, I bring the same discipline: clean stems, versioning, and integration-ready deliverables that plug into Wwise, FMOD, Unity or Unreal without friction.
Kind words
“Sylvanus shipped an adaptive score in half the time we budgeted. The vertical stems just worked when we plugged them into FMOD.”
“Rare combo of musical taste and pipeline discipline. Documentation, naming, versioning — all clean.”
